Wand 412 was a windfall found during a walk around Rudyard Lake - hence the name. We have not been able to identify the wood. Windfalls are chosen because they possess a quality that appeals, in this case the branch was on a track, had been driven over by farm vehicles and was covered in mud. Nevertheless something about it attracted our attention. When cleaned and stripped it became a delightful thing to hold.
Its length, nearly a yard, makes it suitable for dramatic gestures such as casting/drawing the circle. The Runic inscription is the Sator magic square.
